1Overview

Furniture Indian is a premium solid wood furniture brand headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. We design and manufacture handcrafted wooden furniture — including beds, dining tables, wardrobes, sofas, cabinets, and home décor pieces — for retail consumers and business buyers across India and the world. This Shipping Policy governs all orders placed through our official website (furnitureindian.com) and authorised B2B purchase channels.

Due to the nature of solid wood furniture — large dimensions, significant weight, and fragile surface finishes — our shipping and handling procedures differ from standard parcel deliveries. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

By placing an order, you agree to the terms set out in this policy. We reserve the right to amend it at any time; the version in effect on your order date applies.

2Coverage & Eligibility

We ship to over 30 countries worldwide. Domestic delivery covers all serviceable pincodes across India. If your location does not appear at checkout, please contact our logistics team at hello@furnitureindian.com before placing an order — we may be able to arrange a custom shipment.

We currently cannot ship large furniture items to certain remote or island locations, and to countries under international trade sanctions. Flat-pack and smaller décor items may still be shipped to a wider range of destinations — please enquire. This list is reviewed quarterly.

3Order Processing

All orders are processed and dispatched from our manufacturing and fulfilment workshop in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Orders received before 12:00 PM IST (UTC+5:30) on a business day are typically prepared for dispatch the same day, subject to stock availability.

  • Business days: Monday – Saturday, excluding Indian public holidays.
  • Ready-stock items: Dispatched within 1–3 business days of order confirmation.
  • Made-to-order / custom pieces: Processing may take 10–21 additional business days depending on the complexity and wood species. The product page will clearly indicate if this applies.
  • Large furniture items (e.g. wardrobes, king beds, dining sets) are packed in protective wooden crates and may require an additional 1–2 days for packing preparation.
  • B2B bulk orders: Lead times are confirmed in writing at the time of purchase order (PO) acceptance.
  • An order confirmation email is sent immediately upon payment. A dispatch notification with tracking details is sent once the shipment is handed to the carrier.
During peak seasons (Diwali, Navratri, Christmas, New Year) processing times may extend by 3–7 business days. We recommend ordering early for time-sensitive requirements or housewarming gifts.

Delivery estimates exclude Sundays and public holidays. Remote or hilly pincodes (e.g. North East India, J&K, Andaman) may require 3–5 additional days and may attract higher freight charges. Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on item weight, cubic volume, destination pincode, and service selected.

White-Glove Service — Our trained delivery team will bring your furniture to the designated room, assemble it, and remove all packaging materials. Available in select cities. Choose this option at checkout.

5International Shipping

We export solid wood furniture internationally via sea freight (FCL/LCL) for large orders and air freight or courier for smaller items and décor pieces.

International transit times are estimates and may vary due to port congestion, customs clearance, carrier delays, or local delivery conditions. Sea freight is recommended for large furniture orders due to cost efficiency. Air freight is available for smaller items and urgent orders. All international shipping charges are calculated at checkout or quoted separately for large consignments.

6B2B & Wholesale Orders

Furniture Indian operates dedicated wholesale and export programmes for interior designers, hotel & hospitality buyers, retail furniture stores, architects, and institutional buyers. B2B orders are governed by the terms in the signed Wholesale Agreement or Purchase Order Acceptance. In the absence of a signed agreement, this Shipping Policy applies in full.

  • Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): Varies by product category; please request our B2B catalogue and trade price list.
  • Incoterms: Default terms are EXW Jaipur unless otherwise agreed in writing. DDP, CIF, and FOB terms are available on request.
  • Freight forwarder: Buyers may nominate their own freight forwarder. Coordination details must be provided at least 48 hours before the confirmed dispatch date.
  • Packing & documentation: We provide commercial invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin (CoO), GST/IGST invoice, and wood treatment certificate (ISPM-15) for all export wooden crates. Fumigation certificates and other specialist documents must be requested at order stage.
  • Insurance: Marine cargo insurance is the buyer's responsibility under EXW terms. We can arrange all-risk coverage at cost upon request — strongly recommended for high-value furniture consignments.
  • Custom finishes & dimensions: Available for B2B orders with minimum quantities. Lead times are extended accordingly and confirmed in writing.

7Customs, Duties & Taxes

Furniture Indian ships goods internationally in full compliance with Indian export regulations (including DGFT guidelines) and the customs requirements of the destination country.

  • Export documentation: All shipments are accompanied by accurate commercial invoices declaring the true value of goods. We do not under-declare values or mark shipments as "gifts" to circumvent duties.
  • Wood treatment (ISPM-15): All wooden packing materials (crates, pallets) used in international shipments are heat-treated and ISPM-15 certified, as required by most countries for wooden packaging.
  • Import duties & taxes: For retail (where DDP is not selected) and EXW/FOB B2B shipments, all import duties, VAT, GST, and customs clearance fees in the destination country are the buyer's sole responsibility.
  • HS codes: We apply correct Harmonised System (HS) codes for all product categories (primarily Chapter 94 – Furniture; Chapter 44 – Wood and Wood Articles).
  • Refused / held shipments: If a shipment is held at customs due to the buyer's failure to pay duties or provide required documentation, redelivery or return shipping costs will be charged to the buyer.

We recommend consulting your local customs authority or a licensed customs broker before placing large international furniture orders, as import duties on wooden goods vary significantly by country.

8Tracking & Delivery

  • A tracking number is emailed upon dispatch. You can track your order via the carrier's website or through your account at furnitureindian.com/pages/orders.php.
  • For large furniture deliveries, our logistics team will call you 24 hours in advance to confirm the delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to receive and inspect the consignment.
  • Delivery is made to the ground floor / building entrance by default. Delivery to upper floors requires prior arrangement and may attract additional charges.
  • Furniture Indian is not responsible for failed deliveries due to incomplete or incorrect address information, or the buyer's unavailability at the confirmed delivery time.
  • For B2B shipments, a pre-alert with AWB / Bill of Lading details is sent to the nominated contact within 24 hours of dispatch.
  • If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful and the consignment is returned to our warehouse, re-delivery charges and any storage fees will apply.

9Lost, Damaged & Delayed Shipments

We pack every furniture piece with professional-grade protective materials — bubble wrap, foam padding, cardboard corner guards, and wooden crates for export — to minimise transit damage. However, incidents can occur. Please follow the procedure below:

  1. Inspect upon delivery. Carefully inspect all packaging and furniture before signing the delivery receipt or POD (Proof of Delivery). Note any visible damage in writing on the delivery receipt.
  2. Report within 48 hours. Contact us at hello@furnitureindian.com or call +91 1800 000 000 with clear photographs of the damaged item and packaging, plus your order number.
  3. Do not dispose. Retain damaged goods and all original packaging until we confirm our resolution — disposal before resolution may void your claim.
  4. Claims reported after 7 days of the confirmed delivery date may not be accepted.

For items confirmed lost in transit (typically after 30 days for international sea freight), we will arrange a replacement or full refund at no additional cost to the buyer.

We strongly recommend opting for transit insurance at checkout, especially for high-value or custom furniture orders. Insurance covers replacement cost in the event of total loss or irreparable damage during transit.

10Returns & Refusals

Our full returns policy is detailed in the Returns & Refund Policy. Key shipping implications for furniture orders:

  • Approved return shipments must use the carrier and label arranged by Furniture Indian. Returns sent without prior written authorisation will not be accepted.
  • Defective or incorrect items: Return shipping is fully arranged and covered by Furniture Indian at no cost to you.
  • Change-of-mind returns (domestic): The customer is responsible for return freight charges. Items must be disassembled (if applicable) and repacked in original or equivalent protective packaging.
  • International returns: Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is defective or we shipped the wrong product. Please note that international furniture returns are logistically complex — we encourage you to review product dimensions and specifications carefully before ordering.
  • Custom / made-to-order pieces are non-returnable unless materially defective or not built to the confirmed specification.
  • B2B orders are non-returnable except where goods are materially non-conforming to the agreed specification, as governed by the signed Wholesale Agreement.
